Garba Attahiru-Madami, the Resident Commissioner in Kwara, reveal that 193 new generator has been purchased and will be use for elections on Saturday in Kwara State.
The 193 generators would be assigned to all polling booth within the state for easy collation of result said by Garba. He also said all the required and necessary equipment are available for the perfection of the Saturday election.
According to him, all the 15, 545 ad hoc staff, including INEC officials that would be used for the elections, have been trained.
He also said all security personnel for all the 2,859 polling units have also received adequate training on how to be civil on the day of the election.
Attahiru-Madami added that a total of 13,199 ad hoc staff would be used for the Presidential and National Assembly election, while 15,545 staff would take part in the governorship and House of Assembly elections.
According to Attahiru-Madami, the Commission has carried out a series of sensitization to educate the people on voting procedures to reduce incidences of void votes.
The REC therefore reiterated the preparedness of the Independent National Electoral Commission to conduct free, fair, credible and acceptable election that would be applauded by international community.
According to him, he would not afford to rubbish the reputation he has built over the years by compromising his integrity and that of the Commission.
He told the gathering that the Smart Card Readers for accreditation of voters are now 99 percent accurate.The Residential Electoral Commission has assure the people of Kwara state that their will be maximum security to prevent disorder around the polling booth, so people should come out and vote for their candidates.
